Camilla Djelby, Project Manager and Change Practitioner at MEKO and its Danish operation, FTZ.
A big milestone was my shift from communication to project management, opening a whole new chapter in how I apply my skills.”
How long have you been with the company, and what roles have you held over the years?
I’ve been here for just over five years and have held three different roles. I started out managing PR and internal communication, then jumped into the marketing department, before eventually specializing in project and change management – an area that turned out to be a great match for both my interests and strengths.
Can you describe your current role, what you do, and how it has evolved since you started?
I work with change management across the organization — from strengthening our overall change capability to driving projects that introduce new ways of working, such as implementing new IT systems or supporting larger organizational transitions. I’m also part of MEKO’s central change team, where I’m involved in the project to implement a new business system across all companies in the group.
What are some key milestones or defining moments in your career here?
Shortly after I joined, the COVID pandemic hit – and suddenly, internal communication became absolutely critical. Working closely with management and HR, we navigated a chaotic time that taught me a lot, fast. Another big milestone was my shift from communication to project management, opening a whole new chapter in how I apply my skills.
Are there any accomplishments you’re most proud of during your time with the company?
One significant achievement has been helping define our internal comms strategy and launching a company-wide app to reach all our employees, which is no small feat in a business this diverse. I’m also genuinely grateful that the company trusted me with a new role, and so far, I haven’t broken anything, so I guess I’m doing okay.
What challenges have you faced, and how have you grown from those experiences?
One of the biggest challenges in working with both communication and change management is that there’s no single right way of doing it – for every employee, there’s a different perspective, reaction, and need. It can be difficult at times because you’re never really ‘done,’ and there’s always something you could have done differently. At the same time, that’s also what makes the work so interesting, and I’ve learned to roll with it and celebrate the small wins.
Have any mentors or colleagues influenced you, and in what way?
So many! I’ve had the chance to work with two great leaders who saw my potential and gave me the freedom to grow. Collaborating across departments has also exposed me to brilliant people with completely different skill sets. I must give a special shout-out to my awesome colleagues in IT and the project management team — thanks for the laughs, the support, and for never judging me (too hard) when I say something stupid.
Why do you think MEKO is a great place to work, and why should others apply for open positions here?
I’ve always had the chance to shape my work and leave my own mark, which comes with both responsibility and freedom — and the occasional 'what have I gotten myself into?' moment.A nd just to top it all off, there's always room for a laugh.
