MEKO strengthens its supplier network – how we make a difference

At MEKO, our suppliers are more than just partners – they are a cornerstone of our business. Building the best possible supplier relationships is essential, as it enables us to deliver better service, drive innovation, and support growth across the entire group.

“Our supplier strategy isn’t just about terms and conditions – it’s also about risk management, technological development, geographic presence, and sustainability. To clarify how we work with our suppliers, we’ve chosen to focus on specific areas, such as supplier performance and collaborating with fewer suppliers in a more strategic and comprehensive way. This strategy forms the foundation for long-term sustainable growth,” says Jessica Tjulander, Wholesale Director at MEKO.

Reliable suppliers make a difference

Meeting customer expectations starts with reliable suppliers. MEKO closely monitors supplier performance to ensure deliveries are made on time and in accordance with agreed terms – keeping both workshops and customers satisfied.

Partnerships that simplify and strengthen

Strong partnerships streamline processes and create better conditions. That’s why MEKO has invested in global procurement to ensure workshops across our markets receive the right products, at the right price, at the right time. A recent example is the global procurement initiative for tires – a rapidly growing category driven by road safety and the transition to electric vehicles.

Since winter 2025, tire manufacturer Goodyear has been a strategic partner to MEKO, with commercial agreements, training programs, campaigns, and strategic projects. One result of this partnership is a local project involving stocked tires in the local distribution center in Malmö, enabling workshops to receive multiple deliveries per day – resulting in better service and more satisfied customers.

Supplier consolidation – smarter and stronger

By reducing the number of suppliers, we decrease complexity while increasing purchasing power and strengthening our exclusive brands. Fewer, more strategic suppliers allow MEKO to negotiate better terms, optimize costs, and focus on innovation and sustainability.

Through these initiatives, MEKO is building a stronger and smarter supply chain – benefiting workshops, partners, and customers at every step.

“We’re well on our way to creating the best possible partnerships with the right suppliers, and there’s more to come. Over the past year, we’ve expanded our global supplier base by 10 percent, and we’re proud that 96 percent have signed MEKO’s Supplier Code of Conduct – meaning we’ve achieved one of our sustainability goals,” concludes Jessica Tjulander.
