The Board of Directors of Mekonomen has appointed Magnus Johansson as new President and CEO, with effect from 15 June 2015. Magnus has extensive experience of developing operations in senior positions and is currently President of Mekonomen Nordic.

“I am very pleased that we have recruited Magnus to serve as President and CEO. In addition to his experience of the fast-moving consumer goods and retail sectors Magnus is recognised as a skilled leader who, with his broad expertise, will be a major asset to Mekonomen’s continued growth”, says Kenneth Bengtsson, Chairman of Mekonomen.

Magnus has previously held several senior positions with such companies as Lantmännen and Coop. Since 2014, he has been a member of Mekonomen Group’s management team as President of Mekonomen Nordic, with responsibility for Mekonomen’s combined operations in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland.

“For me, it is very inspiring and, at the same time, an exciting challenge to assume the role of President and CEO. There are major opportunities to further strengthen our position in the market by continuing to create innovative customer offerings and new concepts in the Mekonomen Group”, says Magnus Johansson, designated President and CEO, Mekonomen

Magnus succeeds Håkan Lundstedt, who announced earlier this year that he would leave Mekonomen to become President and CEO of Synsam.
