MEKO strengthens its focus on private label

More tools for more occasions – new division to meet demand from both workshops and car owners.

MEKO is ramping up its investment in private labels – with a clear goal: to offer a more competitive and affordable product range to both professional workshops and car owners. By establishing a new, dedicated division, the group is taking strategic steps to strengthen its leading position in the aftermarket. The division will be headed by Henrik Pettersson, an experienced leader with a strong background in product development and the automotive industry.

"MEKO’s private labels already have a strong market presence, but we see great potential to take the next step. By broadening the product range and accelerating development, we can offer even better support to workshops. We know our products make a difference – both for customer satisfaction and long-term revenue."

Private labels – a key part of MEKO’s growth strategy

Over the years, MEKO has developed and refined a strong portfolio of private label products, with established names like ProMeister, Carwise, and Kraft already available in stores and workshops across the Group’s eight markets. These products are designed to deliver high quality at a competitive price – helping workshops improve profitability while making car ownership more affordable.

“It’s no coincidence that we’re taking this step now. We see growing demand for our private label products, and this is our way of responding to our customers’ needs. At the same time, it’s an area with significant growth potential that aligns perfectly with our long-term strategy,” says Pehr Oscarson, President and CEO of MEKO.

New leader with strong industry background

Henrik Pettersson, who has been appointed to lead the new division, currently serves as Head of Product for MEKO’s Swedish operations. Throughout his time with the Group, he has played a key role in supplying the MECA and Mekonomen workshop chains in Sweden, Norway, and Finland with the right products. Previously, he was Chief Operating Officer at TOOLS Sweden, where he worked with professional users in the industrial and service sectors.

“MEKO’s private labels already have a strong market presence, but we see great potential to take the next step. By broadening the product range and accelerating development, we can offer even better support to workshops. We know our products make a difference – both for customer satisfaction and long-term revenue,” says Henrik Pettersson.

Strategic enhancement with customer focus

The new division will serve as a Group-wide hub for product development, assortment strategy, and brand building for MEKO’s private labels. The aim is to better meet the growing demand from workshops and car owners – while also creating synergies and further strengthening MEKO’s competitiveness. A key focus will be ensuring that customers across all markets have access to a consistent and quality-assured offering.

With a solid platform and a leading position in Northern Europe, MEKO is well-positioned for continued growth. Private labels will play a key role in broadening the offering and meeting customer expectations – whether it’s professional workshops or individual car owners looking to make smart choices for their vehicles.

“We are building a stronger MEKO with a clear purpose: to make car ownership easier, smarter, and more sustainable for everyone. This means investing in circular service solutions, increasing the share of recycled car parts, and working to reduce our climate impact throughout the entire value chain,” says Pehr Oscarson.
