Business area Sweden/Norway

We service and repair 1 of 4 cars in Sweden and Norway annually

The Sweden/Norway business area is MEKO’s largest and has a long-standing tradition of serving customers. In total, 2 million cars out of the 8 million in Sweden and Norway are serviced and repaired in our workshops – regardless of fuel or engine type. Operations in this business area are mainly conducted through the MECA and Mekonomen brands. Revenue primarily comes from branches, workshops, wholesale sales, and companies requiring service and maintenance for their car fleets.

About MEKO

MEKO’s vision is to enable mobility – today, tomorrow, and in the future. Our aim is to be the most comprehensive partner for everyone who drives, repairs, and maintains vehicles in Northern Europe. We are market leaders with a presence in eight countries, operating 600 branches that, in turn, serve 20,000 workshop customers, including 4,500 workshops operating under our own brands.

Shared strengths in Sweden and Norway with distinct local impact

While both Sweden and Norway benefit from MEKO’s highly automated warehouse and robust e-commerce systems, their markets differ in scale and focus. Sweden leads in servicing a larger car population with an extensive network and rapid e-commerce solutions. Norway, with its heavy-vehicle expertise and an upcoming, highly automated warehouse near Oslo, highlights innovation in logistics and operational scalability. Across both countries, MEKO’s commitment to quality, speed, and customer satisfaction ensures a seamless experience for workshops and vehicle owners alike. Below, each market is explored in greater detail.

Number one in Sweden

MEKO is the leading player in Sweden’s independent automotive aftermarket, servicing approximately 1 million cars annually out of the country’s 5 million vehicles. With wholesale and workshop brands such as Mekonomen, MECA, MekoPartner, BilXtra, Speedy, and AlltiBil, the network includes 200 branches, along with 1,000 affiliated workshops. More than 1,700 dedicated employees drive MEKO’s success in Sweden.

As one of Sweden’s top e-commerce companies, 80 percent of orders are placed digitally, with deliveries made within 1–2 hours. We ensure efficient distribution to stores and workshops nationwide, powered by a highly automated central warehouse in Strängnäs. Our robust distribution network, with a strong local presence, supports both businesses and private car owners by providing fast solutions for repairs, maintenance, and a wide range of products—including roof boxes, car shampoo, and other accessories.

Leading in Norway

MEKO is the foremost player in Norway’s vehicle and heavy-vehicle aftermarket, servicing over 1 million vehicles annually out of a total of approximately 3 million through the car repair chains Mekonomen and MECA. The chains form a robust network of 32 branches, local warehouses, and 650 affiliated workshops. Backed by more than 800 dedicated employees, MEKO continues to drive success across the Norwegian market.

We are Norway's leading wholesaler and total supplier to the workshop industry. To support our workshop partners, MEKO's operations in Norway provide seamless access to parts and equipment through a highly automated central warehouse in Strängnäs, Sweden, a national warehouse in Gjøvik, and 32 local distribution centers across Norway. The upcoming state-of-the-art warehouse in Vestby, scheduled for completion in 2025, will further enhance delivery efficiency and capacity.

The combination of innovative logistics, extensive expertise, and robust infrastructure guarantees efficient and effective repairs for both workshops and vehicle owners.

We are developing future electric vehicle expertise

The rapid advancements in vehicle technology require the automotive industry to continuously update and expand its expertise in automotive engineering. More than every fourth car in Norway is an electric vehicle, making them a significant part of daily life and business in the country. To meet this need, we ensure skilled mechanics, that are fully equipped to handle electric and hybrid vehicles, through our academy. This enables the mechanics to deliver safe and reliable service and repairs for the electric vehicle.

Ensuring future mobility

Cars are central to our operations, and we continuously stay up to date with their rapid advancements. To ensure the future of mobility and provide our customers with top-quality service, we invest in further training for automotive technicians, including specialized education in electrical technology. We also collaborate with upper secondary schools in Sweden to train the next generation of mechanics. This allows us to offer the highest level of service for all vehicles, regardless of their fuel type.
